What a *toot*
9:47 PM
Another entry about athletes (yep, I'm cool like that). This time, it's about our very own Filipino athletes who ventured to big ol' China in hopes of winning a gold. The government (plus Manny Pacquiao), as I remember, offered millions of pesos (plus something else) to whoever wins a gold. I bet they're happy about not shelling out any peso so far because we lost on all the other sporting disciplines. The only hope for a gold, maybe, is for Taekwondo. Here's one thing that went through my mind every time I hear about the olympics. It's like this thing I've always wanted to shout out to the government: Dudes, don't expect our athletes to win anything if you've never given them enough support. Yeah, I know. There are far more important things to whine about when it comes to current political booboos (like the killings in Mindanao and the stupidity of the MMDA hahahaha... Such pussies). But hey, everyone's talking about those things... Why not talk about THIS? I surmise that China's winning the overall medal standing. Kasi, hello-- Obvious na 'yun. Given the fact that a) hometown's the host and b) they have the manpower to make winning a big possibility (even if the US brought in more athletes), it's absotively and possilutely sure that they're going to end up winning the whole thing. As for our Filipino athletes, let's cry out for more support from the government, now, shall we? Support for Philippine Sports! (among other things). I love Philippines. Wow Philippines. ONE BIG FIGHT!!!! (anoooooo? hahaha) |
