Coinkidink
10:38 PM
![]() Never have I ever hated events happening out of sheer happenstance. Coincidences, for me, were always delightfully surprising. Not today, no.
My histo teacher said all throughout his lecture last meeting (we were talking about the Israelites, the 10 plagues and their scientific explanations) that all the scientific coincidences which eventually caused the plagues were God-planned. I always had the same sort of "yeah-yeah" thoughts about science and the Bible, thus, I always had this rather nonchalant but positive bias [slash] outlook about coincidences. Today, I threw that out the window and cursed it as it came smashing down on concrete-- Hard. Com class: We had this reading to be discussed that was the length of Casanova's memoir autobiog... Kidding. It basically had 7 parts (intro, 5 defs, an extra def and a conclusion). My teacher said he'd pick students to discuss one of the definitions of Info Soc. Since I didn't want 30% of my participation grade to go to waste, I was all "Game! Sige kahit anong def!-- Wag lang Economic Change" (that was IF I get randomly chosen). I've always hated Econ so I was the type whom you'd never get to force to ever finding Fiscal Policies and whatnot appealing. Don't get me wrong, I have friends who are Eco majors and my mom's an Eco major so it's nothing against those who enjoy it. But hello; that aversion intensified after this class. I got chosen to discuss a def and well-- I got Eco fucking nomic def. Fine, it was pretty easy to understand that bit in the reading but I practically skipped it when I was reading the whole thing eh hahahahahha. So yeah, major bola when I recited. Great. Have you ever stepped into a car, thinking that it was yours, but when you stepped in, strangers were staring at you? After com class, my mom offered to fetch me near my classroom. I called her up, told her I was out and saw what I thought was our car. She even replied a "yep I can see you too" when I said "I can see you na". Dark silver Altis, shiny-- Must be my mom! When I stepped in, though, I saw a man who resembled Manny Pacquiao staring at me. I acted so stupidly that I didn't even get to step out of the car immediately. Only when I saw that the car door handle thinger was different did I realize that I must've stepped in the wrong car. I uttered my apologies, quickly hopped out of the car and saw, right behind it, a dark silver and shiny Altis. This time, it was really my mom inside it. I could tell by the plate number haha. Stupid me for not checking the plate number fist, ey hahahahaha. God is great for creating circumstances that led His people to the promise land. Not so great, though, for resulting into a stupid image of me hahahahaha Saturday, November 22, 2008
15 minute attention span
5:32 PM
![]() If my parents gave me all the liberty in the world, I would've decided to go against their will and join all the possible theatre organizations accessible. If that drove me enough to really seek for such a career, I'd be shimmying my way to where spotlights burn the bightest. If I had one free plane ticket destined to anywhere in the world and if I had limitless sums of moo for lodging, food, etc., I'd go to Egypt. I'd stand on the foot of the Sphinx, look at the direction where the Sphinx's perspective is and gaze and wonder in awe on how the Egyptians were smart enough to make the Sphinx point to the constellation of Leo. (I hope you get the analogy) If I could get a free house locally, I'd want it to be between Katipunan and Makati or somewhere there. That way, I could go from academic to corporate easily without having to worry about moving out and shit If I could get a free vacation home, I'd love for it to be a cottage near the Swiss Alps If I were a free human being without anything pulling me down or without parameters and whatnot, I'd sit back and just let life wash over me and overwhelm me. A friend of mine said I needed to worry less. This is probably a nice way to live by what he said ('cause I agree). A fifteen minute attention span is probably not something I have. I'm guessing it's shorter. ADHD hahahaha. Wednesday, November 5, 2008
gObama
3:48 PM
![]() I was tuned in at CNN the whole morning, amazed, first, at how cool their news center looked with their touch screen thingamajigs, how quick and clean the US elections were and, lastly, how that Patriot soundtrack gave me chills (the nice kind hahaha) when they played it when Obama officially won.
A year ago, back when I heard about the primary whatnots on presidential blahs, I wouldn't have cared less for who'd win the presidency. Now, actually, I still don't give a poop-- sort of haha. The first time I remembered leaning towards the Democratic party was during one of the primary debates (when candidates for both parties were still undecided). It was basically one difference that made me favour the Blue-- The fact that they will end the war. Sooo this is me basically not caring because I'm not American but caring, nonetheless, because the Democrats wanted to end the war. From then on, I bet on the donkey over the elephant (those are the party animal things, no pun intended). Succeedingly, I'm happy now that most of the Americans got what they wanted and I'm happy that I won 500 pesos over a bet with my sister HAHAHA yosh. John McCain may have had the prettier wife, the cuter daddy facade, the swollen cheek gland- like thing, the foxier running mate and Elizabeth Hasslebeck (God forbid) as a supporter, but Obama had 300something over 100something electoral votes in favor of him-- plus Oprah as a supporter. Hahaha! I extend a happy Obama- reign and war- free (yayness) period to Americans. How I wish Philippine elections were as quick, clean and easy as yours. Now we can watch TV without those damned campaign coverages popping up. Al Gore. I still love you HAHAHA |
